For sale Porsche Cayman With 1 year Porsche Approved Warranty |
I bought this car new in November 2006, so one owner obviously, and it has been the best car I have ever owned, indeed I think it is one of the best cars Porsche have ever made. It has of course got a full service history with Porsche Edinburgh, and I have kept it under the Porsche warranty scheme from new. At present there is over a year of warranty still on the car (till 24th Aug 2018) which is fully transferable to the next owner, who will also have the option to renew the warranty for a further 4 years. This is a great asset and peace of mind for those worried about unforseen future costs, and I doubt if there is another similar car for sale with this option available. The car is a relatively simple, purist spec, as a classic Porsche should be ... 2.7 flat six naturally aspirated engine giving 245 bhp, manual 5 speed gearbox, Guards Red with black Alcantara interior, de-badged, heated seats, cruise control and red tail lights. The car comes with two sets of wheels, a set of genuine Gen 2 Cayman wheels refinished in gold with N rated Continental tyres and also the original silver wheels still in perfect condition fitted with a set of N rated Continental winter tyres. I have also dealt with all the well known Cayman issues. Both air con condensers and pressure pipes are new, coolant pipes have been changed, oil seals replaced and suspensions bushes changed, and other work, all under warranty. Brake discs and pads are recent and in good shape, tyres are fresh, and the next service is not due until next year. I have all the old MOT's and a huge sheaf of invoices to cover every bit of work ever done on the car. The car is MOT'd until 18th Nov 2017. It has done 75,900 miles as at July 2017. It also falls into one of the lower road tax brackets unlike almost every other Cayman of this period. It is still a fast car, but 30 mpg plus is still possible when driven with restraint. It has only ever been used for road touring and has never been tracked. Obviously the private registration is not included in the sale.
This is the sixth Porsche I have owned and by far the best, and future classic status seems assured for the best original Caymans such as mine. I am a long standing member of PCGB (Porsche Club Great Britain) and write regularly for the club magazine Porsche Post, my car featured in an article which you can read here http://www.arthurlea.com/Stories/Cayman/index.htm I've also just added a short video to youTube of how the car looks this afternoon after a quick wash, although my apologies it is such a dull day https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z3lT4dhElCw Mind you, you will look a long time to find another 10 year old car in quite such good and original condition. The car still looks and drives pretty much like the day I bought it, but after ten years of superb driving it is simply time for a change, although I confess I am selling it with very mixed emotions. I am happy to give any prospective purchaser more details, photos, etc so feel free to contact me for a chat or by email. The car is located in Fife, Scotland.
