Honda Pacific Coast (PC800)
For Sale

The Honda Pacific Coast is a rare beast in the UK at the best of times, but to find one in almost mint condition, and with very low miles is a hard task. I searched long and hard to find this one, and now I have with some reluctance decided to sell it, simply because I am not using it enough to justify keeping it, and I have another purchase in mind. It is a 1990 California spec bike, which has lived all of its previous life in Belfast, where I found it, and has done only a mere 13,700 miles from new. These bikes are legendary for racking up 6 figure mileages with no problems, so this one is barely run in. It is as you can see in Candy Glory Red over silver (perhaps the best colour) and bar a few small nicks in the paint is in fantastically original condition. It is also mechanically A1, having just passed its annual MOT a few weeks ago, and is taxed for 11 months. During my ownership I have replaced the main exhaust at a cost of 300, this being one of the few weak points. I have overhauled the front brakes, kept it fully serviced, and the tyres are both almost new. I even have with it the proper Honda manual, very hard to find.

The Pacific Coast was never a great success in its day, probably because it was too far ahead of its time, but of late it has become a bike for those who really appreciate comfortable sensible biking, a bit of a cult bike almost. If you've ridden one you'll know what I mean, and if you haven't, and want something a bit different from the legions of pointy plastic rockets on the market, you should try one. I used to do some bike journalism, and I wrote this piece ten years ago, but I think it remains just as valid today. Click here.
